08.04.14 - Funds being raised for a feature-length documentary on Integral House, designed by Shim-Sutcliffe Architects

A feature-length documentary that tells the story of Intregral House and its owner, mathematician James Stewart, is in the works. Designed by Professor Brigitte Shim and Howard Sutcliffe, Integral House is a stunning home and private concert hall perched on the edge of a Toronto ravine. The Director of New York’s Museum of Modern Art, Glenn Lowry, called it “one of the most important private houses built in North America.”

Titled The Integral Man, the documentary is being filmed this year. Writer/director and Landscape Architect Joseph Clement is aiming to complete it in the Spring of 2015. A trailer for the film, which features both Shim and Sutcliffe, can be viewed here.

To help raise funds for the feature-length documentary, the filmmakers are holding three events at the residence this spring and summer: The Architects Tour (April 22), The Concert (June 18), and The Exhibition (July 24). Tickets for each of these events can be purchased at www.auraticmedia.com.
