18.12.14 - Networking event gives students the opportunity to connect with alumni and learn more about life after graduation

On November 10, the Daniels Faculty brought students, professors, and alumni together for a networking event, generously supported by the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA).

A total of 19 professionals working in the fields of architecture and design attended. The evening was organized similar to a speed-dating event, with professionals sitting at tables and students taking turns moving between them to ask questions about their architecture practice and gain insight into the potential career paths that those with a degree in architecture might take. The students —  all in the final year of the Master of Architecture program — and mentors later broke off into smaller groups for more in-depth discussions.

"Events such as these are incredibly important to our graduating students who are now preparing to enter the world of professional practice,” said the Director of the Master of Architecture program, Robert Levit. "The transition from school to work is not always an easy process. Having professionals who can provide feedback and guidance, and talk about the different pathways to success that one can take in the field of architecture is invaluable."
