Peter Zimmerman is a Housing Development Manager with Toronto Community Housing Corporation. In this role he is the director of the City of Toronto’s affordable housing development program for the Railway Lands area in downtown Toronto. When completed, this award-winning project will include more than 1,200 affordable and market housing units, a network of parks, two news schools, a community recreation centre, a childcare centre and a Toronto Public library.

Peter has been involved in municipal housing policy and development for more than 20 years, working in community-based agencies and governments in Canada and the United States. While at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities he drafted the National Housing Policy Options Paper, a document representing the housing policy aspirations of more than 1,600 Canadian municipalities.  Peter is a Registered Professional Planner and has a Masters in Environmental Studies from York University.
