Putting the Park Back in Parkdale

Putting the Park Back in Parkdale is a publication by Professor Alissa North, with a Foreword by Canadian Architect Editor Ian Chodikoff, documenting student work created in North's Option Studio held in 2008 at the University of Toronto’s Daniels Faculty. The studio examined the community of Parkdale in Toronto's west end to understand, and then adeptly adjust its systems, through strategic injection of landscape and architectural elements.

Trinity College’s new Centre for Ethics attests to the three intellectual pillars (foundations of ethics; ethics in action; and, ethics in translation) upon which this think tank rests. The question of “ethics in translation” sets this centre apart from its predecessors at Princeton and Harvard, inseparable from its multicultural context, and is the ethos that most challenged our design approach.

Point Pleasant Park International Design Competition “Forest Succession”

The Verdant Walk

The Verdant Walk is a public art installation that stands in view of Marshall Fredericks' beloved Fountain of Eternal Life on downtown Cleveland's historic Mall B, the grand civic space resulting from plans laid out by Daniel Burnham and associates in the City Beautiful era.
