About the Centre for Landscape Research
The Centre for Landscape Research is a multidisciplinary think tank dedicated to the advancement of knowledge, technology and synergy in the fields of land remediation and reclamation. The Centre works with public authorities and private agencies towards the development of effective strategies for the future design and management of urban land. Tools and strategies include visual simulations, comparative modeling and time-based projections. As more and more demands are placed on urban land in the Great Lakes and the Sub-Arctic Regions, critical changes and stresses are being registered on the existing the landscape. How we manage those changes will determine what the landscape will look like in the future, how it will perform ecologically, and how it will contribute to our economy. With a focus on visualization and infrastructure, the objective of the Centre is therefore to spearhead the development of contemporary landscape design, planning and reclamation strategies that address those concerns and proactively engage solutions for the present and the future.
