Student Accounts
To be eligible for a computer account at the Faculty you must have a UTORid and a U of T email account that you actively check or forward. Outlined below is a checklist for creating a computer account:
1. Activate your UTORid using the 'Getting on-line' letter and the Secret Activation Key you received from the University.
2. Create your UTORid via the web with a valid University of Toronto TCard (student photo-ID card) or Library photo-ID card.
3. Verify the creation of a U of T email account. Note the address of this account and actively check this or arrange for forwarding by modifying the attribute of your UTORid
4. After a minimum of a day this new account information you entered will be pulled from the ROSI system by the daniel's computer department here at the Faculty.
5. We will take your UTORid information and create a Daniels computer account using the same name. Please note that they are two seperate accounts: a U of T account and daniel's computer account, using the same name for your convenience.
6. Our system will automatically send you an email informing you your account is ready to be activated - you will need to follow the links in the email to complete this activation.
7. You will receive a confirmation that your account is activated if you everything was sucessful.
8. Before you can use you account, you must come in person to the Faculty and complete the process by logging into a lab or library computer. Note that services like FTP or VPN will not be available until you come into the Faculty and complete the process using the information below.
9. At a Faculty computer type in your user name as: your UTORid Password: your student number
10. If you are successful the system will ask you to put in a new password - do this twice.
11. Your account will then be up and running.
