The Faculty runs and maintains the wireless infrastructure in our building. (U of T has two conections points to their wireless infrastructure - one in the library and 500B). Coverage is acheived by a series of access points - which is a transmitter with an antenna that broadcasts your connection.
The two wireless networks are:
UTORcwn University of Toronto campus wide network is a University-run wireless network. It has limited coverage in our building, primarily for out-of-Faculty students using 500B and the library.
ALDair wireless network allows access only by registered students of Daniels, Faculty members, and Staff.
Please note that any use of the University wireless resources you must comply with the Appropriate Use of Information and Communication Technology policy.
The Faculty runs and maintains this wireless network, which is accessible only by students, Faculty members and staff who have a computer account with Daniels. It provides easy access directly to the Faculty's network resources. Some of the advantages of the Daniels wireless network over the University's UTORcwn network are:
- - Daniels does not require you to authenticate through a webpage
- - Daniels has no quota on useage
- - Support and help are available in the Faculty
To connect to the ALDair wireless network, WPA2/WPA2-Enterprise support for wireless hardware is required. To check compatibility, please consult manufacturers' support websites.
We support connections to the ALDair wireless network from the following operating systems:
Upgrading your Wireless Card Driver to the latest version is a must!!!
