On December 15, 2021, the University of Toronto announced that all in-person activities are suspended until January 31, 2022. Students will have fob access to the Daniels Building starting January 3 and can see their respective course timetables online. From January 10 - 31st, all courses will be held virtually. Students will receive specific instructions from their instructors.
Please note, though, that this will not negate the University’s vaccine requirement, which follows Government of Ontario guidelines that include a vaccine requirement for all post-secondary institutions. Anyone present on campus must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19; proof of vaccination must be uploaded to UCheck.
Resources for all Daniels Community Members
All members of the Daniels community should familiarize themselves with the following resources before coming to campus.
The University is closed as of 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21 and will reopen on Monday, January 3. Except for MVS (Borden) and Forestry (Earth Sciences Building), students will be unable to access buildings during the holiday closure. Starting January 3, all students will be able to access the Daniels Building via fob only.
UTogether is the main resource for the latest updates and FAQs from the University of Toronto: utoronto.ca/utogether.
While the first three weeks of the winter semester will be online, classes will resume, as scheduled, on Monday, January 10, without changes to the semester start date or to class schedules. Details about delivery modes during the online weeks of January will be determined on a per class basis. If you have questions about a specific class, please direct these questions to the class professor.
If you are a current student with an urgent need, please contact the Office of the Registrar and Student Services (ORSS): firstname.lastname@example.org.

The Province and the University will continue to monitor the public health situation and its potential impact on Provincial and University health related policy. Changes will likely occur as the province and its municipalities adjust to new data about the virus. Under these circumstances, please be advised that changes to the delivery of courses, co-curricular opportunities, programs (including clinical programs or opportunities) and services may become necessary during the academic year. The University thanks its students, faculty and staff for their flexibility during these challenging times as we work together to maintain the standards of excellence that are the hallmark of the Daniels Faculty and the University.
