Georg Rafallidis

Visiting Professor

Georg Rafailidis graduated from the University of Applied Sciences in Munich, Germany and the Architectural Association in London, UK. He is a registered architect with the Architektenkammer Berlin, Germany. He worked for Herzog & de Meuron in the UK and in Switzerland. He taught at the RWTHAachen University, Germany and is currently Associate Professor at the State University of New York at Buffalo and Visiting Professor at the University of Toronto. He was a guest critic at a variety of schools including the Architectural Association, Edinburgh College of Art and Cornell University. He is a founding partner of Davidson Rafailidis, established in 2009. The work garnered numerous publications including ARCH+, DETAIL magazine, BRACKET journal and Bauwelt. Over the last two years, the work received a large number of international awards
and is this year’s finalist in the House Award by the Architectural Review. Rafailidis co-wrote the book Processes of Creating Space: An Architectural Design Workbook (Routledge, 2017) with endorsements by Herman Hertzberger, Jacques Rousseau and Rachel Whiteread.
