So much information / So little time: Secrets to effective researching
-
Are you feeling stressed out about your first huge essay assignment in university? Don’t know where to begin?
The Architecture Librarian has put together a two-part workshop series that demystifies the research process, and where you will learn how to conduct research efficiently and effectively to get the results you need to write great papers.
These two workshops will help you to:
- Find background information about a topic you know little about
- Translate your topic into a more effective search strategy
- How to use library catalogues to find books
- What are, and how to use the best databases for your topic
- How to recognize a scholarly article
- Manage citations
The emphasis of these two workshops is for students to gain a better understanding and capacity of the core research skills that are translatable to any of your current classes in the humanities, arts and social sciences.
