Space, Time Travel, Perspective: Manifold exhibit @ UTAC
-
University of Toronto Art Centre art lounge
Through the arrangement of two dimensional window frame silhouettes, Manifold will transform the UTAC art lounge into a procession of openings. The project reflects upon art history and cultural geography as each frame refers to a specific style or movement in art history, from High Classicism of the Greeks to Post Modernism and present design. Along this timeline, a classic Chinese window design will juxtapose with those western scenarios to project the viewer further into another level of experience, a journey that not only articulates historical measurement but also crosses geographic boundaries.
Manifold: Steven Avis and Kankan Yu are U of T architecture students; Cindy Sun, a graphic design student at Seneca College; and Valin Zheng, a U of T Life Science undergraduate.
The project will be on display in the UTAC art lounge on Friday, March 14th and Saturday March 15th. Friday 12pm - 5pm, Saturday 12pm - 4pm.
