CREATIVITY TAKES CENTRE STAGE DURING THE SECOND ANNUAL UofT CELEBRATION OF THE ARTS
The spotlight is on the University of Toronto as it celebrates its second annual Celebration of the Arts from March 19 to April 3, 2009. With more than 80 events in music, theatre, visual arts, dance, film, and multimedia - including 14 juried student projects - the Celebration showcases the diversity and richness of UofT's vibrant arts scene.

ARTISTS: UofT’S BEST KEPT SECRET

Described as “speed dating the arts,” Best Kept Secret takes guests through a series of events where artists who work or teach at UofT demonstrate their work as both creators and professors.
STEPPING ON TOES: TO DANCE OR NOT TO DANCE – and -
THE GRAND RE-OPENING OF THE LEIGHA LEE BROWNE THEATRE
March 19, 8:00 PM - 1265 Military Trail (at Ellesmere), University of Toronto Scarborough
This collaborative stage performance – in the newly refurbished Leigha Lee Browne Theatre – was created by Prague-based Snider Visiting Artist, Jirí Havelka, with students and faculty in the Visual and Performing Arts Program.

STIR is a multi-media video/music experience presented by Blackwood Gallery in partnership with Sampradaya Dance Creations, Toronto-based artist Faisal Anwar, and the DJ collective Quadrasonic.
NEW WORKS BY STUDENTS SERIES
March 19 – April 3, 2009, St. George, UTM and UTSC campuses
This juried collection of 14 works by UofT students spans the creative disciplines. Selected students were awarded bursaries to support the creation of new works developed specifically for the Celebration.
