Mark Clintberg: "Gift and Take: Generosity/Frottage"

-

Room 103, 230 College Street

Mark Clintberg's studio practice and scholarship in art history involve models of generosity and frottage (to make an impression). Acts of largesse, displays of emotion, performances of luxury and frivolity, and intersensorial environments characterize his objects of research and many of his studio projects. This seminar will focus on the sensorial and ideological value found in edible artworks presented at artists' restaurants, on projects that involve the distribution of aesthetic knowledge, and on economies of generosity in artist's multiples.
