Earth, our home, needs healing.

Economic growth, population expansion, resource exploitation, and endless construction reshapes urban landscapes yet destroys our environment. The current climate change is a stark reminder, urging us to mend our planet. As architects, we face the challenge of minimizing our environmental footprint and nurturing Earth back to health.

The aim of the course is to research into different architectural models of different climates and culture that relates to the healing process.

In order to do that well, research into meditation’s benefits as a healing practice for our minds needs to be done. Healing Earth necessitates healing within individuals, especially architects, makers of our built environment. This course aims to shed light on the benefits of meditation and its practical applications. It explores how meditation enhances focus and efficiency, fostering deeper connections within the mind. Meditation is an indispensable tool to healing as we grapple with issues such as stress, distractions and disconnection from nature. Through meditation, architects can find solace; anxiety disorders and stress can be alleviated.

At VTN Architects, we have embraced a daily meditation practice, dedicating an hour each day to meditate. This mindful commitment not only enhances our work efficiency but also alleviates stress. By focusing on mental well-being, architects strengthen our ability to heal the Earth. As architects, we must recognize the interconnectedness of our mental states and the environments we create, fostering a harmonious relationship between humanity and the planet. Through mindfulness and meditation, architects can become the advocates of a more balanced, sustainable world, where both Earth and its inhabitants flourish in harmony.
