23.10.12 - Sessional Lecturer Nadia Amoroso releases new book Representing Landscapes

Sessional Lecturer Nadia Amoroso has released a new book called, “Representing Landscapes: A Visual Collection of Landscape Architectural Drawings” (by Routlege, 2012).

More than 20 landscape architecture professors contributed to this publication, which brings together the very best in visual representation of ideas done by students in the field. The professors provide critical and descriptive commentaries, explaining the impact of using different media to represent the same landscape. Contributors include Walter Hood (Berkeley), Chris Reed (GSD), Mikyoung (RSID), Sean Kelly (University of Guelph), and Daniel Roehr (UBC). The work of Daniels students is also profiled in this book, which some universities have started using as a textbook in studios and visual communications drawing courses.

In other news, Amoroso's firm DataAppeal just received grant funding the RIC (Research, Innovation, Commercialization)  VentureStart program. This seed funding is given to companies starting a tech/design innovation product in southern Ontario. DataAppeal was also just featured in this month's issue of Geospatial Today.
