24.04.09 - Jennifer Davis, MArch 2 Finalist for the Venice Art Biennale Apprenticeship

Jennifer Davis, MArch 2 will represent the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design as a Finalist for the Venice Art Biennale Apprenticeship.

Barbara Fischer, Executive Director/Chief Curator of the Justina M. Barnicke Gallery at Hart House is this year's Commissioner for the Canadian Pavilion at the 53rd annual Art Biennale di Venezia.  One student from University of Toronto will be selected to travel to Venice in early June for the VIP press vernissage, helping set-up the installation, organize events, and network at this international exhibition.

There were over 100 people who applied for the position and the selection process to narrow the field to five finalists was quite rigorous.  Two weeks ago Jennifer started working at the gallery, helping the staff make preparations for the installation of Mark Lewis' work at the Canadian Pavilion in Venice.
