22.02.13 - David Lieberman to speak at book launch for Xenakis Matters
A launch party for the book Xenakis Matters (The Iannis Xenakis Series No. 4) will take place on February 28 at 6:30 PM at the Drawing Center in New York (35 Wooster St.). Associate Professor David Lieberman contributed a chapter to the book and will be a guest speaker at the event.
Entitled "The Performity of Space — Architecture as the Production of Sound and Light," Lieberman's chapter is a composite of a series of presentations that were part of two events which explored the work and legacy of composer and engineer Iannis Xenakis.
One of the events, a panel discussion held at Columbia University that Lieberman participated in, can be viewed online here. Professor Lieberman's chapter also includes reference to ongoing research and option studios at the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design.
