28.05.10 - Design team including Adrian Blackwell, Elise Shelley to unveil green roof at Toronto City Hall

The new green roof project at Toronto City Hall, which
Professors Adrian Blackwell and Elise
Shelley
have been working on for the past three years, will open
on Saturday May 29, 2010 to coincide with Doors Open Toronto. It will be the
largest publicly accessible green roof in the City of Toronto.

The project is designed by PLANT Architect Inc., Shore Tilbe Irwin &
Partners, Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architecture and Adrian Blackwell Urban
Projects. It is the first phase of the revitalization of Nathan Phillips
Square.

In addition to the overall design collaboration, Adrian
Blackwell designed public furniture for the project.

Professor
Elise Shelley
has been the senior Landscape Architect at PLANT for the
project, where she focused on the complex planting plan for the roof
garden.

The opening is at 11am, and there are tours of the site from
10am-5pm both Saturday and Sunday.
