29.05.09 - Landscape Architecture Students' Collaborative Project Recognized by ACSA/AIA

After receiving dozens of responses to their call "for examples of faculty and student projects that would be of interest...to influence the effective use of stimulus funding" under President Barak Obama's Economic Recovery Act, the ACSA and AIA have selected Water Projects for New Orleans: Gutter to Gulf as "shovel-worthy.”

Gutter to Gulf represents the collaborative work of students in LAN 2014, taught by Jane Wolff and Elise Shelley, and upper-level architecture students in a studio taught by Derek Hoeferlin at the Washington University College of Architecture. The collaboration, an effort to support the development of a comprehensive water plan for New Orleans, will continue in next year's studios. The ACSA's call and Gutter to Gulf are more fully described at https://www.acsa-arch.org/faculty/innovation.aspx.
