04.11.11 - Daniels Professor Aziza Chaouni of Bureau E.A.S.T. to present work in Miami, Lausanne, and Casablanca
November is a busy month for Daniels Professor Aziza Chaouni, founding principal of Bureau E.A.S.T.
Bureau E.A.S.T’s exhibition Salon de B.E.A.S.T., featuring recent projects, will open on November 17th at Florida International University(FIU) in Miami. Constructed out of wood pallets donated by WholeFoods and designed by Bureau E.A.S.T., the exhibition’s reconfigurable furniture will be reused both the faculty and Wholefoods when the exhibition closes in December.
Chaouni will also present on three of her recent projects at FIU on November 17. Her lecture is part of the Afrika Seminar.
On November 15, she will present a lecture entitled Productive infrastructures in the Developing World at L’Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne as part of their main lecture series. Chaouni's research on Moroccan beach resort towns, Differential approaches to Tourism in Morocco, will be presented at the 5th African Perspective conference set in Casablanca on November 4. Saskia Sassen will be the keynote speaker.
