Envisioning Organization
a conference about architecture + information
November 5–6, 2010
The Knowlton School of Architecture
The Ohio State University
The constructed world is replete with information that governs and controls its organization. From railroads to highways, systems to signage, the design and development of the contemporary environment is managed by strategies of physical and visual organization. No longer relegated to only imagining building form, the practice of architecture has expanded to include the visualization and design of systems, processes and other information that impact the design and development of the environment.
"Envisioning Organization" conference explores these design methodologies and seeks to understand and theorize their implications on practice by looking laterally across disciplines of architecture, graphic design, landscape architecture and urbanism.
