15.08.11 - Daniels students to participate in Open Eyes Toronto, Aug. 16-22
Daniels students Omar Aljebouri and Michael CC Lin (MArch IV) are participating in Open Eyes Toronto.
Open Eyes Toronto is an art show where artists and designers explore locally what is beautiful, problematic, controversial, inspiring and unique in the city. The urban environment is revealed through creative documentation: scale, texture, patterns and program are displayed, analyzed and challenged. The collection of work is intended to be a backdrop for dialogue about the city - thoughtful, fun and interactive.
Omar and Michael are exhibiting an installation titled Cabinet of Curiosities: Toronto Expedition 001. The piece features “artifacts and specimen” gathered from Toronto neighbourhoods. These curious finds reflect physical, digital, and imaginary journeys through the City which represent the intersections of history, myth, and everyday life.
Opening reception: Thursday, August 18 at 7:00pm (Free admission)
Exhibition: August 16 – 22, 12:00-5:00pm
