10.02.14 - #DanielsFora on data visualization and infographics sets social media atwitter
Thanks to everyone who attended our forum, Material Evidence, on Thursday, February 6th. There was a great turnout for what proved to be a fascinating discussion on the use of data visualization as a form of communication and engagement featuring U of T's Global Cities Institute director Professor Patricia McCarney, media artist Ben Rubin, and New York Times Visual Op-Ed Columnist Charles Blow.
"Really interesting talk on Material Evidence this eve at @UofTDaniels with @earstudio and @CharlesMBlow (funny fellow!)," tweeted Steph Parrott (AKA @pizzapocketpop). Mark Bessaoudo (@markbessoudo) agreed: "Great talk tonight w @UofTDaniels re: infographics, data visualization. Best part: @CharlesMBlow revealing how @nytgraphics selects colours." Kaleem (@kaleemlive) live tweeted the event. Sameboat (@SameboatCo) tweeted the photo above.
For those of you who missed it, we will be posting a video of the event on our YouTube channel (UofTDaniels) in the coming weeks. In the meantime, if you'd like to read more about the presentations and discussion, check out Colin Hoad's (@colinhoad) coverage of the event on his blog Busy Intelligence.
