10.01.10 - Bindya Lad (MArch '09) wins Canadian Architect 2009 Award of Excellence
Bindya Lad (MArch '09) has been announced by Canadian Architect as a winner of their 2009 Awards of Excellence, given each year to architects and architectural graduates for buildings in the design stage. One of only two national award programs devoted exclusively to architecture, the Awards of Excellence have recognized significant building projects in Canada on an annual basis since 1968.
Awards are given for architectural design excellence. Jurors considered response to the program, site, geographical and social context, and evaluated physical organization, structure, materials and environmental features.
Lad's was one of three projects to be awarded from the top 35 thesis projects nominated by the 10 schools of architecture across the country. Her advisor was Prof. Adrian Blackwell.
