23.03.09 - Mason White | 2009 Recipient of the GSD's Wheelwright Fellowship

Established in 1935 in memory of Arthur W. Wheelwright, Harvard class of 1887, this fellowship for travel and study in architecture outside of the United States may be awarded annually to a Harvard Graduate School of Design alumnus or alumna who holds the degree Master in Architecture or Master of Architecture in Urban Design. A stipend of approximately $60,000 will be awarded to one individual selected by a vote of the Architecture Department faculty.

Mason White's proposal is titled "Meltdown" and will involve research and travel to parts of northern Russia. His research will situate the complex intersection of climate change, sovereignty, resources, and major port infrastructures in this region and its subsequent global impact.
