David Long (MArch 3) has been selected as the recipient of the 2009 Canada Green Building Council Scholarship. The jury felt the choice of subject matter to be particularly significant to sustainable design.

"Studying and extracting lessons from 'Behaviour' is still rare in schools of architecture. As stated, we do in fact have lots of lessons to extract from 'observing'. This proposal's richness lies in its recognition that buildings, the people living in buildings and our ecosystem are inextricably linked and its interest to apply these findings to a thesis project."

The award was officially announced at the RAIC Foundation Lunch held during the RAIC/OAQ/AAPPQ Festival of Architecture and Forum in Montreal.
