15.11.10 - Georges Farhat presents symposium at National Schools of Architecture & Landscape (ENSP), Versailles Nov 18

On November 18, 2010, Professor Georges Farhat will be presenting and moderating a one day symposium, co-organized for both the National Schools of Architecture (ENSA) and of Landscape (ENSP), in Versailles:

Le paysage à travers les disciplines  [Landscape across the disciplines]

Re-conducted yearly in different configurations, this symposium aims at addressing the multiple ways of approaching landscape: as a cultural construction rather than an exclusively physical reality. As a polymorphous notion, landscape has constantly to be re-elaborated and differently apprehended, through a multitude of disciplines, social needs and practices that are continuously changing in time. In order to survey some aspects in this evolution, we will cross views and question practices, theories, and doctrines from the many standpoints and fields of: design and planning, arts and aesthetics, anthropology, ecology, geography, or politics...
