15.11.10 - Jane Wolff jury member for ARC: International Wildlife Crossing Infrastructure Competition
Professor Jane Wolf served on the jury for ARC: International Wildlife Crossing Infrastructure Design Competition on November 13, 2010. Prof. Wolff also served on the competition's Technical Advisory Committee in 2009 and 2010.
The competition engaged innovative international, interdisciplinary design teams—comprised of landscape architects, architects, engineers, ecologists, and other experts—to create the next generation of wildlife crossing structures for North America’s roadways. Its goal was to raise international awareness of a need to better reconcile the construction and maintenance of road networks with wildlife movement.
Initiated by the Western Transportation Institute at Montana State University and the Woodcock Foundation in New York City, the competition drew additional support from government authorities, professional associations, and non-profit organizations in the U.S. and Canada.
