17.10.11 - Professor Georges Farhat to speak at seminar in Paris

On Friday October 21, 2011, Professor Georges Farhat will be giving a talk in Paris at the research seminar Histoire de l'Architecture du Temps Présent organized at the Ministry of Culture and Communication of France. He will present his own scholarship and discuss the very specific relationships to time, site, and archive developed within architectural landscape history.

Directed by Eric Lengereau, this seminar is devoted to the questions of epistemology and methodology raised by the undertaking of an architectural history of the immediate past. It is meant to be the research instrument of the Vocabulaire de l'architecture contemporaine to be published by the General Inventory of Monuments and Artistic Wealth of France [Inventaire général des monuments et des richesses artistiques de la France] in a now famous collection, Principes d'analyse scientifique (Paris: Editions du Patrimoine, 2013).
