The work of Professor Emeritus Blanche Lemco van Ginkel — the first female dean of the University of Toronto's faculty of architecture — is currently featured in a prominent exhibition and two recently published articles.
- The work of Blanche Lemco van Ginkel is included in the exhibition, "Century of the Child" at the Museum of Modern Art, New York until November.
- An article about the city planning work of van Ginkel Associates, (Blanche and Sandy van Ginkel) was recently published in Architecture in Canada (Vol.37, No.1 2012)
- The August issue of the periodical ARQ (Architecture Quebec) is devoted to work of van Ginkel Associates.
Blanche Lemco van Ginkel was one of the first women in her profession in Quebec. She was also the first woman to be elected an Officer of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and later became its first female Fellow. A respected urban planner, she has served on many municipal and provincial planning commissions, has been an active volunteer, and has co-directed a successful architectural firm.
