22.01.12 - Matthew Blunderfield and Skanda Lin participate in Come Up To My Room at the Gladstone Hotel
Daniels students Matthew Blunderfield and Skanda Lin present their public space installation Firmament at the Gladstone Hotel's annual alternative design event: Come Up To My Room.
Date: Thursday January 26 - Sunday January 29
Location: The Gladstone Hotel, 1214 Queen Street West
Firmament draws attention to how digital culture obscures its real and physical by-products. Instead it focuses on the issues of consumerism, waste, and obsolescence that arise through the life cycle of electronic devices.
Come Up To My Room, curated by Noa Bronstein, David Dick-Agnew and Deborah Wang, invites artists and designers to show us what goes on inside their heads. The four-day exhibition is in its 9th year at the Gladstone Hotel, featuring 11 rooms and 14 public space installations, design talks and curatorial tours.
