12.08.10 - Bureau EAST / Aziza Chaouni places third in IUA competition, Marrakech
In March 2010, the Fondation Alliances for sustainable development launched an international competition for the design of a training centre in Marrakech, Morocco. Sixty-three teams from seventeen countries replied to the interntional call for candidatures. Six teams were selected to compete.
At a meeting in Marrakech on 16 and 17 July 2010, the jury designated the winning team composed of Salima Naji (Morocco), Anna Heringer (Austria) and Nägele Waibel (Austria) that will be commissioned to realise the winning project.
The second prize was awarded to Hind Tricha (Morocco) & Tekhné (France); the third prize went to Omar Essakalli Architectes (Morocco) – Bureau East (Morocco-United States, Professor Aziza Chaouni, principal). Under the presidency of Said Mouline, the international jury was composed of Albert Dubler, Omar Farkhani, Nikos Fintikakis, Mrs Dominique Gauzin Muller, Eric Hutter, Alami Larzaq, Robert Lion, Fabrizio Tucci. The competition was organized under the auspices of the International Union of Architects.
