08.08.13 - An Te Liu featured artist at Gardiner Museum's Artist Intervention Series
An Te Liu's new body of sculptures will be featured at the Gardiner Museum as part of their 2013 Artist Intervention Series. Mono No Ma, running from September 7-November 11, 2013, will showcase the Associate Professor's use of contemporary consumer milieu, conjuring new forms borne out of emptiness - entities poised between the familiar and the enigmatic, material and immaterial, thing and no-thing.
While mono is Japanese for ‘object’, ma is a more elusive term referring to ‘space’ or ‘gap’, but one which is simultaneously aware of form and non-form.
The exhibition opening party, cleverly called the An Te Social, will be held on Friday, September 6 at the Gardiner Museum. Get a sneak peek of the exhibit while enjoying beer, food and music.
