12.06.14 - Daniels Faculty Alumni celebrate milestone anniversaries at Spring Reunion

From May 28th to June 1st, University of Toronto alumni celebrated Spring Reunion — a weekend of lectures, lunches, tours, talks, dinners and dialogue.

On May 30th, graduates of the classes of 1954 and 1959 celebrated their 60th and 55th anniversaries at the Chancellor’s Circle Medal Ceremony and Luncheon.

That afternoon, Daniels Faculty Professor Aziza Chaouni and second year MLA student Rui Felix, coordinated a talk as part of the Stress Free Degree Lecture series. Chaouni screened her TEDtalk on “Revolutionizing the Role of Water in Urban Planning,” while Felix (pictured above) spoke about his studio project on the Don River.

Class of 1964: (from the right) Richard Sommer, Paul Shepherd, Bob Steele, Nelson Wong, Richard Track, Michael Thom, and Harry Lennard.

Later that day, the class of 1964, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, visited the Daniels Faculty at 230 College Street to meet with Dean Richard Sommer and get a short tour of the building. They then proceeded to Convocation Hall for the 50th Anniversary Ceremony, where they were presented with commemorative pins.

The Class of 1954 held a gathering on the Saturday at the Four Seasons to celebrate their 60th anniversary.

Congratulations to all alumni who are celebrating milestone anniversaries this year. We hope to see you again soon!
