03.05.12 - Daniels alumnus Jakub Dzamba to speak at the "Future Food Salon II"
On May 10th, Architect and Daniels Alumnus Jakub Dzamba of Third Millenium Farming will be speaking at the event "Future Food Salon II," a fundraiser for the Centre for Social Innovation's Food Constellation. This event will celebrate the future of food and the role of micro-livestock and entomophagy and farmscrapers.
Dzamba will speak about an approach to urban agriculture called Third Millennium Farming (3MF), that utilizes bio-wastes (such as grey water and black water) to grow micro-crops (such as algae and grass), which are then fed to micro-livestock (insects). The insects are used create a new ingredient called insect-flour for culinary experimentation. Dzamba's work focuses on the architectural, urban, and infrastructural design implications that grafting 3MF systems onto cities would create.
