York Seminar for Advanced Research 2009-2010: “The sound seminar takes up the theme of sound – as a medium, cultural phenomenon, and nascent field of academic study. The seminar proposes to offer scholars and scholar-practitioners an opportunity to collaborate across the arts and sciences, not only with their current research but also the potential discovery of new research avenues and the larger questions around the expanded possibilities (and perhaps limits) of interdisciplinary research within the academy.” David Lieberman joins a group, scholars, artists, musicians, acousticians, and engineers in this initiative headed by Dr. Leslie Korrick of Fine Arts Cultural Studies at York University.
