10.10.13 - Nicholas Gosselin awarded honorable mention in PLAYscapes Design Competition
First year Master of Landscape Architecture student Nicholas Gosselin received an honourable mention in the student category in the PLAYscapes Design Competition. The competition challenged architects and designers around the world to propose ideas that would encourage public interaction by turning "redundant city spaces into fun creative places."
One of the renderings from Gosselin's submission, which illustrates his proposal to provide additional opportunities for play on a typical suburban street, is pictured above.
The competition received over 500 entries. Its jury included representatives from Building Trust International, Project for Public Spaces, BMW Guggenheim Lab, Landscape Architects Network, 3Space, Neon Stash, Land8 and academics and professionals from the fields of architecture and landscape design.
