On October 13, Associate Professor Georges Farhat will present a paper at the conference Perspective as Practice, which is being held at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin.

Farhat's paper is entitled "Some Topographic Innovations and Developments of Perspectival Optics in the Realm of French 17th-century Landscape Architecture." The conference, which runs from October 12 to 13 "addresses the production and circulation of optical knowledge in workshop and design practices of the visual and decorative arts and (garden) architecture between the fourteenth and seventeenth century."
