19.04.11 - Denegri Bessai Studio / KIMIIS receive Edmonton Park Pavilion Design Competition award

Denegri Bessai Studio in collaboration with KIMIIS- Steven Beites and Christian Joakim, were awarded a citation for ‘Borden Park Ambient Shroud’, a submission to the Edmonton Park Pavilion Design Competition.

'The project proposes a pavilion structure as a space of sensory effect and spectacle. A contoured shroud encircles the concession and warm-up building. The lower hem of the shroud is gently lifted to let park users enter.  Between the concession and the shroud is a zone of sensory, auditory and visual effects that is partly concealed; partly revealed to the park beyond.  The qualities of this space vary and change through-out the days and the seasons...'
