28.04.09 - Jane Wolff Works Toward Landscape Strategies in New Orleans
Jane Wolff's work with Longue Vue House and Gardens was published in "The Pontchartrain Park + Gentilly Woods Landscape Manual". This manual is an inventory of rehabilitation strategies for two New Orleans neighbourhoods devastated by Hurricane Katrina. It is being distributed to citizens, planners, and policy makers in New Orleans and southern Louisiana.
In addition, her work on the project “Community Beyond Housing,” a collaborative design initiative with the Make It Right Project, the Lower Ninth Ward Center for Sustainable Engagement and Development, Elizabeth Mossop, Walter Hood, and Austin Allen, has been funded by a grant from the Louisiana Recovery Foundation. This design team held a workshop in New Orleans with students from the University of Colorado and the Louisiana State University in March and will continue to develop their ideas at a second workshop in May.
