01.08.12 - Shabnam Hosseini and Hamish Rhodes publish "The Thing" in Log 25
Shabnam Hosseini and Hamish Rhodes' text "The Thing: An Architectural Script" has been published in Log 25: Reclaim Resi[lience]stance.
The Thing is a proposal for a research station that facilitates the investigation of climate change in the arctic. It's an architectural science fiction set in the near future and part of Hosseini and Rhodes' ongoing research into novel forms of political assembly and what they have termed "digitally-mediated network communities."
Hosseini and Rhodes are graduates of Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design. Their design work is a sustained meditation on iteration, fabrication, and narrative development. The Thing is a result of their collaboration.
Log is a journal on architecture and urbanism from the Anyone Corporation.
