15.12.10 - Daniels faculty Georges Farhat co-organizing one-day symposium at the Versailles School of Architecture
Professor Georges Farhat is co-organizing a one-day symposium on "Paradoxical heritage: critical fields” at the Versailles School of Architecture. The symposium will be held December 16, 2010, and explores the definition of “heritage”:
"In contrast with what is generally assumed, the term "heritage" covers evolutive and diversified dynamics. This is what the symposium will seek to demonstrate, through debates and studies, and by combining several critical fields: contemporary architecture in historic monuments, the conservation of social housing, urban and cultural landscapes, the living heritage of gardens. Presentations on these problematics will be introduced by an anthropological history of the notion of heritage."
