22.02.12 - Recent Daniels graduate Karen May featured in Ground magazine

Recent Daniels Faculty graduate Karen May was featured in an article in the most recent issue of Ground magazine, the landscape architect quarterly published by the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects. The story, published in the magazine's "Up Front" section, focuses on May's thesis project: an alternative, low-cost design for a chicken coop that would work in urban backyards. "As landscape architecture students, we don't often have the opportunity to build what we design, because the scale of our projects and the nature of the materials we use," commented May in  the magazine. "But I could actually put my coop design into use and learn its flaws and strengths first-hand."

May's thesis was advised by Associate Professors Jane Wolff and Adrian Blackwell. You can download the current issue of Ground (Ground 16, winter 2011-2012 - Real / Artificial) from the OALA's website
