Phyllis Lambert Seminar 2011
Colloquium
February 25-26, 2011, École d'architecture, Université de Montréal
A resurgence of interest in the North since the end of the Cold War and the acceleration of global warming urge us to reconsider our conceptions of the North, a place far more complex more than the cardinal direction thought of by most southern Canadians.
Drawing on the work of geographer Louis-Edmond Hamelin, author of Nordicité canadienne (1975), the 2011 Phyllis Lambert Seminar is organized by Alessandra Ponte as a colloquium at the École d’architecture, Université de Montréal, and it assembles an interesting group of international participants, including: Philippe Poullaouec-Gonidec, Peter Fianu, Lola Sheppard, Mason White, Caroline Desbiens, Marie-Hélène Cousineau, Denis Bilodeau, Kelly Crossman, Matthew Biederman, John Palmesino, Ann-Sofi Rönnskog, Gisle Løkken, Magdalena Haggärde, Patrick Evans, Stephan Kowal, Charles Stankievech, Jason Kelly Johnson, and Kelly Nelson Doran.
