25.02.09 - Centre for Landscape Research Receives CSLA National Merit Award

The Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (CSLA) has awarded twenty-five projects from Canada and the United States national and regional recognition in the prestigious 2009 CSLA Awards of Excellence in Landscape Architecture.

The Centre for Landscape Research was one of six groups to receive an National Award of Merit. The submission by John Danahy entitled "Lakeview: Community Education & Landscape Politics" describes the project and its greater contribution to the study and teaching of landscape architecture.
 
The 2009 Awards of Excellence truly celebrate the vital role and influence of landscape architecture in Canada.  This year’s entries reflect the rich diversity and remarkable talents of our profession, as well as the significant impact collectively, we as practitioners, educators and administrators have on our environments and quality of life. Through engagement, innovative planning and design processes and creative solutions these award winning projects are an inspiration and exciting evidence that we are indeed rising to the challenges of the 21st century.
