Assistant Professor Aziza Chaouni will lecture at the University of Tehran, as part of the MesoCity workshop, which runs until September 22. Aziza is collaborating with Hydrocity, a Toronto-based research platform that engages in local and international projects with universities, municipalities, and private organizations through workshops, exhibitions, and publications.

Led by Sara Kamalvand, HydroCity organizes creative design charettes as public consultations, often within academic frameworks, and sometimes with the input of local artists. HydroCity leads research on cities to increase ecological awareness and produce visionary proposals for real time opportunities and challenges. It promotes a new urban model that views local natural resources as the capital for growth. HydroCity examines watersheds, ground water, and water management using a multiscalar strategy that goes from the territory, neighbourhood, park and building.
