Kara Verbeek

Kara Verbeek is a Toronto-based designer currently working as a project manager at LAMAS where she collaborates on various research, residential, and commercial projects. Before returning to Toronto, Kara was a junior architect at OMA in Rotterdam. She has also worked at studios in Vancouver and Copenhagen, and has contributed to various research, exhibition, and communication design projects at the University of British Columbia.

Kara completed her Master of Architecture degree at UBC’s School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture where she received numerous awards and scholarships including the Alpha Rho Chi Medal and was on the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Honour Roll. Prior to studying architecture, Kara graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Design and worked as graphic designer in Toronto.

Combining architecture with her interest in graphic design, she is passionate about the ways in which the two disciplines can work together to represent, communicate, and create space.
