Laura Timms is an ecologist with over 20 years of experience in research, applied science and scientific communication. In her current position as Program Manager in Natural Heritage Management at Credit Valley Conservation, she leverages biodiversity data to develop tools and strategies for conservation and management. She loves the natural world and enjoys sharing her passion to help others connect with nature - especially through community science projects and public speaking.

Laura has done research on conservation, climate change, insect diversity, invasive species, and biological control. She has served on numerous professional committees and boards, including the Committee for the Status of Species at Risk in Ontario and the State of Ontario's Biodiversity Report committee.

Laura has been an Adjunct Professor with the Daniels Institute in Forest Conservation since July 2020. She teaches an undergraduate course in forest insect ecology and management, gives regular guest lectures in other courses, has supervised MFC internships, and sits on graduate student committees.
