Selected Topics in Sustainable Design: Perspectives on HVAC & Architecture

ARC3502HS
Instructor: Bomani Khemet
Meeting Section: L0101
Wednesday, 9:00AM - 12:00PM

The objective of the course is to develop an advanced understanding between building enclosures and Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC-R) systems in conventional, and ultra low energy building designs. The discussions will include both buildings as discrete entities as well as building “clusters” on the district scale. The course is based on a hybrid seminar-lecture model with introductory lectures delving into fundamental environmental system processes and equipment. Participants will then explore case studies and applications, as well as have the opportunity to enrich their learning experience by engaging with architects and engineers during guest lectures and site visits.
