10.03.14 - David Lieberman joins the planning committee for the next Holcim Sustainable Development Forum
Daniels Faculty Associate Professor David Lieberman is on the planning committee for the next Holcim Sustainable Development Forum [PDF], which will be held in late spring 2014. Last year’s forum explored how current market dynamics in Toronto, particularly in the residential sector, are masking the long term risks of poor building performance.
In addition to working with Holcim Canada on the development of new concrete products and their applications, Professor Lieberman is a consultant to the Holcim Foundation for the Holcim Awards.
The International Holcim Awards for Sustainable Construction recognize innovative projects, community plans, buildings, technologies and ideas from around the world that deliver economic and social performance while considering environmental impact. They are open to professionals, academics, students and project owners from around the world working in the fields of architecture, urban design, civil engineering, brownfield redevelopment, community planning and related fields. the deadline for submissions for The Holcim Awards for Sustainable Construction is fast approaching: Entries must be submitted online by March 24.
Past Holcim Award winners from the Daniels Faculty include: former student Przemyslaw Latoszek, Assistant Professor Aziza Chaouni, Associate Professor Mason White.
